NOW TAKING APPLICATIONS The Millington Police Department is now taking applications for reserve officers. Download the Reserve Application, or pick up a copy at the Millington Police Department, 7950 Memphis Avenue. Any questions can be directed to the Training Division.

The Police Department also consists of approximately 18 Reserve Police Officers, who donate their time to the city.  These officers handle special events, such as Millington Central High School Sports Events, the Goat Days Festival and the Christmas Parade.  In turn this saves the taxpayers of Millington money, and allows the paid officers to continue with their regular patrol activities.  While there are no special events, Reserve Officers will compliment the full-time paid officer in the patrol division, answering calls, enforcing traffic violation and patrolling the residential and business areas of Millington.

The Reserve Officers receive nearly the same training as the full time paid officer.  Each officer is required to complete an FTO (Field Training Officer) Program which consists of training in officer safety issues, street and address drills, state law and accurate incident reporting with a senior full time officer.  The reserve officers must serve the citizens for a minimum of 16 hours a month, and have a monthly meeting in which they receive portions of their annual training.  While their time is donated to the city, these officers receive no benefits or compensation for their services.

The requirements for a Millington Reserve Police Officer are available and any one who meets these basic requirements should contact the Millington Police Department Reserve Coordinator, LT. Reed, for further information.
